CyberKy Academy (Cyber Warrior) Career Accelerator FAQ

Answers to common questions about the CyberKy Academy Career Accelerator. This is the mentorship-focused program (sometimes associated with Cyber Warrior mentorship plans). It is separate from self-paced Platform subscriptions. Is this a bootcamp? No. The CyberKy Career Accelerator is not a traditional bootcamp. It combines interactive courses, hands-on labs (including IAM and CyberArk PAM training), personalized mentorship, career coaching, and job placement support. Is a six-figure job guaranteed? No. We do not guarantee a salary or a job offer. Outcomes depend on your effort, market conditions, and consistency. Graduates have gone on to companies such as Accenture, Raytheon, CDW, and others—but results vary. Who is this program for? It is built for committed career changers, graduates, and IT professionals who want structured mentorship and an IAM-focused path into cybersecurity. Spots are limited; we look for people who will show up to calls and complete assignments. Do I need a tech background? No cybersecurity experience is required. You should have basic computer literacy and be ready to learn. Mentorship helps fill gaps, but you still need to put in the work. Can I get remote jobs? Yes—many cybersecurity roles are remote or hybrid. Academy includes job search support and tools to help you find and apply to roles that fit your goals and location preferences. How fast are results? Some students see meaningful progress in roughly 3–6 months, but timelines vary. Consistency matters more than speed. Skipping calls or assignments slows everything down. Will this work if I do not show up? No. Mentorship only works if you attend sessions, complete assignments, and apply to roles. If you cannot commit time each week, start with the self-paced Platform instead. What is inside the program? Typical Academy support includes: - IAM Defender course content and related labs - CyberArk PAM / hands-on practice - Practice questions and interview prep - Resume and career branding support - Coaching and accountability - Job discovery / placement support - Lifetime access to CyberKy Platform learning content Exact packaging can vary by enrollment offer—your consultation call covers current details. What kind of roles can I land? Common target roles include: - IAM Analyst - PAM Administrator - Cyber Analyst - SOC Analyst - IT Security Specialist - Information Security Analyst Your mentor helps you aim at roles that match your background and the market. How is Academy different from the Platform? | Platform | Academy | | -------------------- | ---------------------------------- | | Self-paced | Mentorship + placement support | | Subscribe online | Apply + consultation | | No 1-on-1 mentoring | 1-on-1 mentoring and direct access | | No recruiter network | Recruiter network / warm intros | How do I apply? Go directly to cyberky.com/academy/apply. Still have questions? Email support@cyberky.com, or complete your application and bring questions to the consultation call.

Resume Accelerator and AI Interview Coach

CyberKy’s career tools help you practice interviews and improve your resume while you learn. They are available on paid Platform plans (and included with Academy / certain legacy mentorship plans). Resume Accelerator Use Resume Accelerator from the dashboard when your plan includes it. What it helps with - Building or refining an ATS-friendly resume - Improving bullets with AI assistance - Connecting your learning progress to stronger resume language Typical limits | Plan | Resume Accelerator | | -------- | --------------------------------------------- | | Free | Not included | | Premium | Limited uses per month (for example 10/month) | | Ultra | Unlimited | Exact limits are enforced in-product based on your subscription. AI Interview Coach Interview Coach runs mock interview practice with feedback on technical answers and delivery. Typical limits | Plan | Interview Coach | | -------- | ------------------------------------------------ | | Free | Not included | | Premium | Limited sessions per month (for example 5/month) | | Ultra | Unlimited | Resume Workshop (different tool) Some accounts also see Resume Workshop—a guided multi-step resume builder. That feature is tied to Academy / Cyber Warrior-style entitlements, not every Premium/Ultra Platform subscription. If you do not see it, your current plan may not include it. Tips for better results - Complete labs and pathway modules first so your resume and interview answers reflect real practice - Treat AI feedback as a draft—edit for accuracy and your own voice - Re-run Interview Coach after studying weak topics Troubleshooting - Feature locked / upgrade prompt — Your plan does not include the tool, or you hit a monthly limit. Check Settings → Billing or upgrade to Ultra for unlimited career tools. - Error mid-session — Refresh and try again. If it keeps failing, email support@cyberky.com with the tool name and time of the error.

Labs troubleshooting

Hands-on labs let you practice in browser-based environments. This guide covers access, starting a session, and common errors. Do I have lab access? Labs are a paid Platform feature. If your plan does not include labs, the Labs hub shows that labs are locked and prompts you to upgrade. Typical access: | Plan | Labs | | ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------- | | Free | Not included in-app (upgrade required) | | Premium / Ultra | Included | | Cyber Academy (Cyber Warrior) | Included | Open Dashboard → Labs to see what is available on your account. Note: Some marketing pages mention limited daily lab time on Free. In the product today, labs are gated behind paid access. If you see different messaging, trust what your dashboard shows for your account. How to start a lab 1. Go to Dashboard → Labs 2. Open a lab from the hub 3. On the lab page, use Join Lab Room / open the workspace 4. Wait for the remote desktop session to connect (you may see Connecting / Ready states) Live chat is hidden inside the lab workspace so it does not cover the desktop. If you need help mid-lab, open another dashboard tab or email support. One lab at a time You can only run one active lab session at a time. If you see a message that a lab is already running: 1. Resume the existing session, or 2. End the current lab from the session panel, then start the new one Do not open multiple workspace tabs and start conflicting sessions. Common error messages | Message (summary) | What it usually means | What to try | | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | | Plan does not include this lab / tier too low | Your subscription cannot access that lab | Upgrade, or pick a lab allowed on your plan | | A lab is already running | Another session is active | Resume or end the other lab first | | Session expired or unhealthy | The environment timed out or failed health checks | Start a new lab | | Too many lab requests | Rate limiting | Wait a minute and retry | | Lab infrastructure temporarily unavailable | Backend / orchestrator issue | Retry shortly; contact support if it persists | Connection tips - Use a modern desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox recommended) - Allow the page to finish loading—first connect can take up to about a minute - Disable aggressive VPN/ad-block extensions if the desktop never appears - Avoid unstable mobile networks for long lab sessions - If the desktop freezes, use the workspace reconnect controls or refresh once Still stuck? Email support@cyberky.com or use live chat from a non-workspace page. Include: - Lab name / slug - Your plan (Premium, Ultra, legacy name) - Exact error text - Approximate time (and timezone) - Browser and OS

Pathways, courses, and hands-on labs

What are career pathways? Pathways are structured learning tracks that stack lessons, labs, and milestones toward a role. CyberKy currently highlights six pathways: 1. IAM — Identity and Access Management 2. SOC — Security Operations 3. GRC — Governance, Risk, and Compliance 4. Offensive — Pen testing / red team foundations 5. Cloud — Cloud security 6. DevSecOps — Secure development practices Open them from Dashboard → Pathways. Do I need experience to start a pathway? No. Free-tier intro modules let you explore. Paid plans unlock full pathway access so you can go deeper without switching products. How do labs work? Labs run in your browser. You do not need to install a home lab. Scenarios may include environments such as Active Directory, LLDAP, Elastic, Keycloak and other enterprise-style sandboxes &/or vulnerable systems and servers. Lab access by plan | Plan | Lab access | | --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Free | Labs are a paid feature in the product today—upgrade to unlock the Labs hub | | Premium / Ultra | Full lab access with priority infrastructure | | Academy (Warrior) | Full lab access with priority infrastructure | If a lab will not start, see the full troubleshooting guide: Labs troubleshooting. Courses vs pathways - Pathways organize a career track end to end - Courses (including IAM Defender content) deliver modules, quizzes, and labs inside those tracks Progress is saved to your account so you can continue where you left off. Certificates Paid platform plans include completion credentials for eligible pathways/courses. Exact certificate availability depends on the content you finish and your plan entitlements.

Leaderboard, streaks, and points (Cyber Rating)

CyberKy tracks learning progress with points, ranks, streaks, and leaderboards so you can measure consistency—not just completion. For the in-app guide, open Dashboard → Leaderboard → Help (Ranking System Guide). Points (never expire) Points measure progress. Once earned, they do not expire or decrease. How you earn course points Each course has a base value of 100 points when you fully complete it. To receive those points you must typically: 1. Pass the final exam 2. Pass all lesson quizzes 3. Complete all required labs and practical exercises Partial progress does not award the full completion payout. Early-bird multipliers Finishing a newly released course early can multiply points: | Completion order | Multiplier | Example total | | -------------------- | -------------- | ----------------- | | 1st–10th | 1.50x | 150 points | | 11th–20th | 1.25x | 125 points | | 21st+ | 1.00x | 100 points | Leaderboards Open Dashboard → Leaderboard. - Season — competition for the current season (resets when the season ends) - All-Time — lifetime ranking (does not reset) Season resets do not wipe your all-time points. Ranks and Cyber Rating (CR) As you earn points you move through rank tiers such as: Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond → Silicon Your public profile may show Cyber Rating (CR), rank badge, leaderboard position, and percentile. Exact point thresholds for each tier are listed on the in-app Ranking System Guide (they can be updated over time). Streaks A day streak tracks consecutive calendar days of learning activity (for example course progress updates). - Keep learning on consecutive days to grow the streak - Missing multiple days typically resets the streak counter - Your dashboard may show Day Streak and celebrate increases with a toast Streaks reward consistency. They are separate from leaderboard points. Tips to climb faster - Finish courses completely (quizzes + labs + final) before moving on - Jump on new course releases early for multipliers - Build a daily habit so streaks and momentum stay intact - Use pathways to avoid random, incomplete progress
